The mission of the Tennessee Golf Foundation is to promote golf and its life-enhancing values with an emphasis on teaching youth and the disadvantaged. Its programs focus on making golf accessible and affordable for all youth throughout the state, cultivating in them skills that extend beyond the golf course to their careers, their life, and their role in the community. Students who complete the organization’s full programming, including the community service and academic accountability requirements, are eligible to receive scholarship money to attend college. Each year Tennessee Golf Foundation provides 20-25 scholarships totaling between $60,000 and $70,000. For more than five years, the William E. Schmidt Foundation’s support has helped fund the college scholarship program.

“The William E. Schmidt Foundation’s support has been unbelievably valuable to our work, especially ensuring our ACE-Level graduates receive scholarship assistance to attend college. More than a funding partner, the William E. Schmidt Foundation genuinely cares about these young people and their life journeys. They are interested in each and every one of our scholarship recipients – wanting to know how they are doing, where they are, what they are studying, and even what their careers are beyond college. We couldn’t ask for a more engaged and supportive funder.”
